Our Team

Prof. Junko Yasuoka, DrSc, MPH, is a Professor at the Graduate School of Public Health, St. Luke’s International University. Her work centers on global health, with a focus on community-based participatory research, community health workers, and strengthening the maternal and child health continuum of care. She also conducts research at the intersection of oral health and global health, and explores links between biodiversity and population health.

Dr. Yasuoka earned her Doctor of Science and MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health (including as a Fulbright Scholar) and has held research and technical roles across academia and international organizations, including the World Health Organization and the University of Tokyo. Her research portfolio includes over 100 peer-reviewed publications spanning maternal and child health, infectious diseases, and implementation research in diverse settings, and she has led multiple competitive research projects supported by national and international funders.
