Dr. Sampurna Kakchapati is an experienced public health professional and researcher with a PhD in Research Methodology and more than 15 years of expertise in data science, statistics, quantitative research, and monitoring and evaluation. He is proficient in statistical analysis using tools such as R and SPSS, and has led and supported a wide range of national and international research projects and surveys across public health domains including COVID-19, maternal and child health, health systems and resilience, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, non-communicable diseases, family planning, and sexual and reproductive health.
Dr. Kakchapati currently serves as a Research Manager at HERD International, where he leads the planning, coordination, and implementation of research projects. His previous roles include Research Coordinator and advanced faculty member of Public Health at Nobel College, Research Expert/Project Coordinator at ADRA Nepal, Surveillance and Research Specialist at FHI 360 Nepal, Senior Biostatistician at HIV-NAT (Thailand), and Program Coordinator/Full-time Lecturer at the Nepal Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS), Kathmandu. He has contributed to work with major organizations including the Ministry of Health and Population, WHO, Abt Associates, UNAIDS, World Vision International, PSI, Save the Children, and others, including serving as a public health expert for COVID-19 management in Nepal. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and produced 20 national and international reports, and is known for strengthening institutional data management and analysis systems to advance public health research and practice.
