Dr. Subaru Ikeda, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at the Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University. His research focuses on global health and maternal and child health, with particular emphasis on quality of care and continuity of care across the maternal and newborn health continuum. His work also explores the use of digital health technologies and telehealth systems to improve access to care and health system performance.
Dr. Ikeda previously trained as a midwife at the Japanese Red Cross Medical Center before pursuing graduate studies in community and global health at the The University of Tokyo. His research has been published in journals such as BMJ Open, PLOS Global Public Health, and Scientific Reports, and includes work on maternal and newborn health systems, telehealth for maternal–infant care, and the application of digital technologies in public health research.
